Let's go to the Beach!
I started my university classes on Monday, July 24th. I'm taking four classes this semester: Photography, Poetry, Industrial Chemistry and Forensic Analysis of Bioactive Compounds. It's a little difficult getting back into the swing of attending classes (I took the Spring 2017 semester off to work as a co-op for a medical device company) and I was a bit overwhelmed with the pre class work and long lectures. I needed to relax a little bit, but how? I didn't want to sit around in my apartment and do nothing, and walking around downtown gets crowded and busy. What to do... what to do...
I got a group message from Barbara, who I met at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, asking if anyone was interested in an impromptu trip to Gold Coast. I replied in .0001s saying that I will, of course, go on this mini adventure.
I had a morning class on Tuesday from 9am-11am and I hopped on the 11:30am metra train to Gold Coast. I met my friends at the train station and we got there in just enough time to catch the train. Two hours later and we arrived at Surfers Paradise Beach! As we approached the beach, I saw the bluest water I have ever seen (pictures didn't even do the colors justice). The sun was shining bright and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The water was 70 degrees and had a strong smell of seaweed. I was so happy to be at the beach!
We spent a total of 3 hours at the beach and caught the 5pm train back to Brisbane. Even though the day was warm, the evening was so cold! I also did not get any sunburn, so this beach day was a success! I will love to go back in September or October and explore more of Gold Coast (when it gets warmer and the days are longer). And on Wednesday, I was back in class, back to reality.
I love adventures like these: quickly planned, relaxed, and I met more people along this journey. I can't wait for more days like this one!
(All of these pictures were taken on an iPhone 6 and none are altered/have filters).
Awesome!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJealous ): Meeting people and just going on adventures with them is literally the best! I did it in Morocco, by far, my best memories there, are the times we spontaneously just did something.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! Although, I do in fact miss beach days with you.
